The Water for Life Challenge
The Water for Life team is a fundraising initiative of local charity, Fields of Life.
The initiative began back in October 2010 when Fields of Life Director, Angus Wilson, took 8 men all from northern Ireland to Uganda to see the work of the charity on the ground.
During the 5 day trip, the team travelled across Uganda visiting Fields of Life primary and secondary schools, income generating projects and seeing the drilling rig and team in action.
When the team returned home, they were touched with the need of the people they met and the challenges and poverty the people of East Africa face on a daily basis.
They were greatly concerned about the lack of clean drinking water and the devastating impact this was having on children, families and communities.
The team recognised the need for safe clean drinking water and saw it as the catalyst for positive and meaningful change and they committed to making a difference!!
